What is whole body cryotherapy?
Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) is a treatment that exposes the skin to ultra low temperatures up to -220 F. The exposed skin reacts to the extreme temperatures by stimulating cold receptors and sending messages to the brain that stimulate natural regulatory functions of the body. In addition, the skin’s exposure to these subzero temperatures trigger the release of anti-inflammatory molecules, endorphins, toxins, and increases oxygen circulation within the bloodstream.
Originally developed in Japan to treat arthritis patients, it has since been used to measurably heighten sports performance as well as achieve total body wellness. Today Cryotherapy is also used to fight inflammation, reduce muscle pain and soreness, lose weight, improve mood imbalance, and overall holistic wellness.
Cryotherapy is the science of exposing the body to sub-zero temperatures of up to -220°F in order to stimulate multiple physical and mental health benefits. Cryotherapy stimulates blood circulation, releases enhanced levels of endorphins, and increases the oxygen and nutrient supply to the areas of the body that needs revitalizing.
It also speeds up muscle recovery, reduces tissue damage, decreases inflammation and relieves pain by increasing cellular survival and strengthening the immune system.
